Dear Kate,
Sorry for not writing back quickly. I was very busy with my project on festivals. Now that I’m free, I can tell you about Kupalle.
We celebrate Kupalle (or Kupala Night) in July. It is not a holiday when people don’t go to work and stay at home to celebrate. It is a festival which saw its beginnings many centuries ago.
To celebrate Kupalle, young people jump over and look for a magic fern flower in thick . Kupalle is a very festival. People wear bright traditional costumes and beautiful flower on their heads. People sing Belarusian songs and dance around the bonfire.
Fire is one of the symbols of the festival, so people have burning in their homes.
