There are three main reasons why the right to education is important. 5. Getting the education can’t help you to reach your full potential. 6. By acknowledging that getting education is a right, it becomes something that we can defend and ensure. 7. UNESCO can set international standards for education. 8. UNESCO holds conferences where the leaders can come together to develop conventions such as a convention against the discrimination in education. 9. These conferences are unimportant. 10. Once a year UNESCO consults its member states. 11. 273 million children and youth have no access to school. 12. Less than one in five countries can provide 11 years of free education for their citizens. 13. Many factors contribute to the problems with getting education such as poverty, conflict and natural disasters. 14. UNESCO keeps on working to make sure the right to education stays an international priority.
