Paintings worth over forty million pounds are reported to have been stolen from the Gallery of
Modern Art. Thieves are thought to have broken in during the night. However, police have not yet established how they entered the gallery, which is said to have the most sophisticated alarm system in the country.

Thousands of people all over the world are now believed to be searching for their ancestors via the Internet. And dozens of websites are thought to be selling private DNA tests to satisfy the growing demand. Traditional methods can take months of painstaking study of old records but the new companies say they can do it in days, using a tiny sample of saliva from the mouth. The genetic code in the saliva is claimed to reveal links to ancestors who lived thousands of years ago in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and even China.
